Girls Flag football is a growing sport, and DIS is proud to launch the DIS Girls Flag Football Academy — a program dedicated to empowering young athletes through skill development, game knowledge, and position-specific training.
Whether you’re new to the game or looking to take your performance to the next level, this is your chance to grow your skills, boost confidence, and shine on the field!
Ages: Grades 6-8 and 9-12
Days/Times: Thursdays 3:30-5:00pm
Dates: 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14

Meet the Coaches
Girls Flag Football Coach – Abbey Soper
Abbey Soper began her flag football journey in 2009 during the early days of the North Shore Flag Football League (NSFFL), playing alongside Austin Bradshaw. Her talent and dedication quickly led her to join several competitive tournament teams, traveling extensively along the East Coast to compete at a high level.
In 2012, Abbey was scouted to join an international league. Her team earned multiple tournament victories and she showcased her versatility and leadership on the field. Throughout her career, Abbey has played key positions including cornerback, wide receiver, and quarterback.
Continuing her passion into adulthood, Abbey remains active in the sport, playing as a wide receiver and cornerback on a competitive tournament team and in an adult recreational league.
Danvers Indoor Sports Football Director – Anthony Carter
Anthony Carter is originally from Hartford, CT, where he attended High School at Northwest Catholic High School in West Hartford, CT. Anthony then went onto attend and play Football and Rugby at Endicott College in Beverly, MA where he has won a Collegiate Bowl Game, a NCAA Conference Championship, and has played in the NCAA playoffs at Endicott College.
Anthony currently runs a Football Skills and Drills/ Speed and Agility Program for clients interested in Private to Small Group Sessions. He has previously trained athletes that have gone onto to play at UCONN, U. Maryland, Merrimack College, Assumption College, Endicott College, Husson University, and Trinity College.
